Bonjour Paris! The city of light. Famed for its ridiculously beautiful architecture, incredible museums and a romantic ambience that would make Cassanova blush, this city has style. However, with the likes of Neymar, Cavani and M’Bappe now plying their trade in the French capital, football is on the rise here. Despite it being the host city of the Euro 2016 final, it has long been touted as just, ‘a place to take the missus’. In fact, the footy on offer here and the buzzing atmosphere inside the stadiums is a good enough reason to hop on board for a trip to this fantastic city.
PSG (Paris St Germain) were only formed as a football club in 1970 then moving into the Parc des Princes in 1973 which has been their home ever since. Located in the western district of Paris close to the River Seine and the Pont du Garigliano.
Parc Des Princes was the host stadium for 5 matches in Euro 2016.
Legend has it that on sold out nights you can feel the stadium vibrate under your feet.
PSG have gone through a transformation in recent times, after sitting mid table in Ligue 1 for most of the 2000’s with little success and dwindling crowds the club was bought by a wealthy Sheik Nasser Al-Khelaifi, investing hundreds of millions in the club and seeing the arrival of the likes of Edinson Cavani, Neymar and Kylian M’Bappe. Ever since they’ve seen a change of fortunes and the club are now battling for Champions League success whilst dominating the French league.
