A favourite destination for stags from all over Europe, this city is all about fun!
Known for its coffee shops, canals, banged up bicycles, red light district and erm… pancakes, this is stag do heaven. On the football front, AFC Ajax, the most successful club in the Netherlands plays its home games here at the wonderful Amsterdam ArenA. Having produced the likes of Van Basten, Cruyff and Bergkamp as well as having spawned total football, Ajax are European football royalty. Having last won the Champions League back in 1995 it’s a wonder they haven’t continued their proud tradition and won it more recently. It goes to show that without billionaire investment, even the mighty can flounder.
But that aside, we love Amsterdam and all its treats and this is the place that seems to sell immediately the minute we release a trip here. So if you fancy doing Amsterdam the Football Road Trips way then join us on one of scheduled trips here or let us know and we will organise you and your group a tailor made trip that you will never forget.
The Amsterdam ArenA is the home of Dutch champions Ajax Amsterdam. Located 5 miles south from the canals and cafe’s in the heart of Amsterdam, the Arena has been the home of Ajax since 1996. Even today looking at the ground it’s hard to believe the stadium is 20 years old
First ever football stadium built with a retractable roof
The training complex, De Toekomst is located a short distance from the ArenA and sessions tend to start at 10:30am and on a non match day fans are welcome to watch training.
Pre match drinking is limited near the stadium but a couple of bars can be found on Arena Boulevard but the majority of the Ajax faithful tend to drink in the city before hand. The Red Light areas tend to be the busiest on a match day.
